FUGITIVE SONGS feat. the ESCAPE COMMITTEE

Melbourne's favourite songwriter and guitar hero Spencer P Jones is set to
release his hotly anticipated 6th solo album Friday 13th April at The Tote.
Aptly titled "Fugitive Songs", this album is the first album entirely
recorded with his current band The Escape Committee, although this lineup
has featured on his two most recent efforts, last year's (IMMOLATION &
AMELIORATIONS 1995-2005) and 2004's critically acclaimed "FAIT ACCOMPLI".

That fact that Spencer P Jones is not a household name is simply astounding
when you consider the impressive credentials he carries. Most notably, he is
the founding guitarist in influential Australian hard rock legends, Beasts
Of Bourbon, as well as taking on guitar and vocal duties in another highly
regarded export, cow-punk kings The Johnnys. He's also played in the bands
of such internationally lauded artists as The Gun Club, Violent Femmes, Paul
Kelly, Renee Geyer, These Immortal Souls, Andre Williams, Sacred Cowboys,
Lydia Lunch and Chris Bailey.

His own solo career has moreover been recognised on foreign shores, with
boutique Spanish label Bang! Records issuing Immolation & Ameliorations
1995-2005 on limited edition vinyl in Europe. The Europeans also welcomed
Spencer and the Escape Committee to their shores for a tour in 2005, which
saw them play shows in Spain, France and the Netherlands. The scope of
adulation for Spencer was clearly evidenced by the sheer number of autograph
hunters clutching old records, and the appreciation from the audience when
songs were played from his extensive back catalogue, sometimes over 20 years
old.

So people of Melbourne (and Australia), it's time to not only show your appreciation of one
of this city's living legends, but to experience his pure musical genius at
a time where he is producing some of his most inspiring and relevant music
to date.

Friday 13th April at The Tote. Special guests on the night will be

Shooting at Unarmed Men, Killer Birds and the Ukeladies. Fugitive
Songs will be in stores early April on Spooky Records.
